[ARCHIVED] MIRAMAR SALE OF ITS OLD SR SERVICES FACILITY MAKES WAY FOR THE EXPANSION OF A COMMUNITY BASED CHURCH

On October 19, 2016, the City of Miramar Commission Board approved the sale of the City owned property located at 7667 Venetian Street in the amount of $185,000 to the Church of God New Life Worship Center, Inc. The property had been uninhabited and vacant since 2009 when the Miramar Multi-Service Center was completed and Senior Services operations were relocated to 6700 Miramar Parkway.

As a Community Facility (“CF”) zoned property, it is an L-shaped site with approximately 24,779 square feet (0.57 acres) of land; with 75 feet of frontage on Pembroke Road and 150 feet on Venetian Street. North Perry Airport is located to the north of the property and residential uses abut the east and south side. The Church of God New Life Worship Center, Inc. resides to the west of the property, making the property a perfect fit for its expansion. It also contains a 5,056 square foot one-story CBS building built in 1961, which encompassed limited upgrades throughout the years.

The City of Miramar’s sale of this property to the Church of God New Life Worship Center (“NLWC”), and their subsequent acquisition will allow for the church’s expansion and planning for more community outreach programs.
