The City of Miramar received exciting news about support for its application to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facility Grant in the form of a $10,000 dollar grant award!
The grant award, designated for Silver Shores Park (15700 Pembroke Rd), will enhance its amenities by resurfacing two existing 78-foot tennis courts complete with blended 36-foot and 60-foot tennis playing lines.
The USTA Facility Grant was chosen by the city to promote improvements for Silver Shores Park because of its focus on providing communities with access to safe, appealing and functional tennis environments.
Virgil Christian, Senior Director of Market Development & Collegiate Tennis for the USTA, expressed support of the City of Miramar’s application by stating that “….we are happy to partner with the City of Miramar to help achieve this goal….. The essence of this initiative is to assist communities, leveraging their tennis facilities to promote lifelong healthy activity and to improve their programming by advancing the latest innovations for all program types.”
