Broward County has made the City of Miramar’s Fire-Rescue department’s Inspector-Lieutenant, Reuben Gonzalez its 2016 Fire Inspector of the Year -- proving once again, that what’s Right Here In Miramar™, is in its employees as well.
The designation confirmed by the Fire Inspectors' Association of Broward County, awarded Inspector- Lieutenant Gonzalez with this recognition because of his dedication to the professional development of fire safety. In this regard, his contributions were demonstrative of a candidate with a clear commitment to improving the lives and safety of the residents of the City of Miramar and Broward County.
Reuben began his career as a Fire Inspector in the Fire & Life Safety Division of the Miramar Fire-Rescue department in November of 2006. He has been instrumental in organizing and overseeing multiple projects for the department including the very important Child Car Seat Program. Before joining the Miramar Fire-Rescue department, Reuben worked as a contracted firefighter, serving in Fallujah, Iraq, alongside the United States Marines Corps.
