The City of Miramar Commission has approved a multi-phased complete streets plan to improve the “Miramar Experience” for residents and guests alike.
The plan will impact Historic Miramar by including redevelopment and revitalization features like sidewalks, on street parking, lighting and landscaping for neighborhoods bounded by Pembroke Road to the North, State Road 7 to the East , County line Road to the South & SW 62nd Avenue to the West in four phases.
A grant from Broward County’s Redevelopment program has made the Historic Miramar Complete Streets Project possible, amounting to $1.5 million dollars in support funding. This funding and the projects’ four phases will be carried through October 31, 2019. Beyond improving quality of life, the Historic Miramar Complete Streets Project will also fulfill key public purposes of economic development, job creation and removal of blighted conditions in these areas.
