The City of Miramar Commission unanimously voted to approve the release of easements to green light the construction of an additional Broward County I-95 Express Bus Park and Ride Terminal in the City at its January 25, 2017 meeting.
This process adjusts the City’s 2009 plans for its 14-acre property, positioned on the Northeast Corner of Miramar Boulevard & Hiatus Road; between the Miramar Commons Shopping Center and the residential development of the Residences of Miramar. The City’s intent to utilize the land as an Overflow parking facility site, would have designated additional parking for Ansin Park Sports Complex (10801 Miramar Boulevard) and Miramar Town Center (2300 Civic Center Place) when required. This facility as proposed by Broward County will now serve a greater public purpose by also accommodating overnight parking for city transit buses and as needed overflow for various activities associated with Ansin Sports Complex and Miramar Town Center.
