The City of Miramar places high priority on progress, diversity and inclusion. In 2017, the Tom Sawyer Company, in conjunction with the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, provided an opportunity for organizations to participate in the inaugural National Day of Racial Healing (NDORH) and Miramar was one of the first cities to support this worthy cause.
We are honored to announce that the City of Miramar will be recognized as a "Charter Proclamation City" during a global Facebook LIVE broadcast entitled "Healing Hearts with Grace" on January 16, 2018 (7:30 p.m. eastern standard, 6:30 p.m. central).
This distinction acknowledges communities that have stepped forward in the quest to eliminate racial biases and prejudices.
The Facebook LIVE broadcast will feature celebrities and NBA superstars, along with political and social leaders, all weighing in on the need for Racial Healing, Truth, and Transformation in an exciting and action-packed show. This broadcast will culminate with a live concert from award-winning artist, Lizz Wright, from the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans, Louisianna!
In conjunction with these endeavors, the City will support the promotion of this act of humanity on its Facebook page in solidarity with Tom Sawyer Company and W. K. Kellogg. Follow the conversation on social media using these hashtags: #NDORH and #TRHT.
