Want Free Veggies? Become a member of the MCG!

Located in Historic Miramar, the 7,400 square foot Miramar Community Garden is an award-winning “micro urban farm” offering a social network where members learn about growing fresh organic produce and healthy living.

Benefits of joining the MCG

  • Access to Fresh Produce: Grow your own fruits, vegetables, and herbs—ALWAYS organic and more flavorful than store-bought alternatives.
  • Cost Savings: Reduce grocery expenses by harvesting your own food.
  • Physical Health: Gardening promotes physical activity, from planting and weeding to watering and harvesting.
  • Mental Wellbeing: Exposure to nature and green space can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Community Building: Meet neighbors, build relationships, and foster a stronger sense of local connection.
  • Educational Opportunities: Learn gardening techniques, composting, sustainability practices, and healthy eating.
  • Environmental Benefits: Gardens improve local biodiversity, support pollinators, reduce urban heat, and often repurpose underutilized land.
  • Food Security: Helps ensure access to nutritious food in areas with limited grocery options.
  • Youth Engagement: Involve children and teens in hands-on learning about nature, responsibility, and nutrition.
  • Cultural Exchange: Share seeds, crops, and cooking traditions with others from diverse backgrounds.

Workshops and Classes

Our Community Garden offers a variety of classes open to everyone in the community so come learn, grow, and connect with us!  You do not need to be a MCG Member to attend, however, space is limited per class so registering is highly encouraged.  Registration is available via Eventbrite (City of Miramar events).
