State Required Building Permit & Inspection Utilization Report

The State of Florida requires the governing body of local government that provides a schedule of fees to have a building permit and inspection utilization report posted to their website for the public to see. The information provided below has been derived from relevant information available from the most recently completed financial audit conducted for FY 2021. The report shall include:

1. Direct and indirect costs incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code, including costs related to:

  • Personnel services cost, including salary and related employee benefit costs incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code. $3,520,059
  • Operating expenditures and expenses. $933,624

2. Permit and inspection utilization information, including:

  • Number of building permit applications submitted. 12,393
  • Number of building permits issued or approved. 10,284
  • Number of building inspections and reinspections requested. 40,413
  • Number of building inspections and reinspections conducted. 37,757
  • Number of building inspections conducted by a private provider. 11
  • Number of audits conducted by the local government or private provider building inspections. 0
  • Number of personnel dedicated by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code, issue building permits, and conduct inspections. 33.5
