Commissioner Carson "Eddy" Edwards

Elected in March 2025, Commissioner Carson "Eddy" Edwards is a dynamic entrepreneur, dedicated community advocate, and champion for progress. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Commissioner Edwards brings a leadership-driven spirit and decades of experience to his role on the Miramar City Commission.

For over 30 years, Commissioner Edwards has been a vital part of Miramar’s community through his successful business ventures, contributing to the city’s economic growth and cultural vibrancy. His extensive experience in business and civic engagement reflects a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of residents and fostering a stronger, more inclusive Miramar.

Before his election to the Commission, Commissioner Edwards served as a member of the Planning & Zoning Board, where he helped shape the city’s growth and development. He now continues his dedication as a City Commissioner, focusing on collaboration, innovation, and progress for all.

For over 30 years, Eddy has operated successful businesses in Miramar, leaving an indelible mark on the city's landscape. As Managing Partner of Stingez Night Club and Riddims Marketing, Inc., he's pioneered innovative marketing strategies, positioning Miramar as a hub for Caribbean culture and community engagement.

A Voice for Change:
Beyond business, Eddy is a passionate advocate for immigrant rights and civic engagement. Through his radio programs and community partnerships, he's empowered countless individuals to become active participants in the political process, driving positive change from the ground up. His commitment to excellence and community service is unwavering, as demonstrated by his roles in producing the annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festivals and receiving accolades like the Lignum Vitae Vanguard award from the American Friends of Jamaica. He was also named one of the 50 Most Powerful and Influential Black Business Leaders by Legacy Magazine. Edwards was selected as a member of the “Creative Minds”, to develop and produce Broward County’s Centennial Celebrations – Broward 100 - in 2014.

A Family Man and Health Advocate:
Beyond his professional achievements, Eddy is a devoted husband of 37 years to his wife Bridget and a proud father to his son Kareem, a City of Miami Firefighter. An avid runner and promoter of healthy lifestyles, Eddy embodies the values of wellness and positivity, inspiring others to embrace a life of vitality and purpose.
