According to the USA Swimming Foundation, 10 people drown each day in the United States, Drowning is the #1 cause of unintentional deaths for children ages 1-4, and the second leading cause for children under age 14. The City of Miramar’s Parks & Recreation Department is offering free swimming lessons for children at both Miramar pool locations through their new “SWIM RIGHT UP” program. Families that can demonstrate and qualify for financial need will be able to attend the 4-week session at no charge. Vouchers are available to Miramar Residents Only. Participants must be between the ages of 6-months and 16 years old. In order to qualify, parents and/or legal guardians must submit proof of income;

  • Housing Assistance
  • TANF
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Unemployment
