The Miramar Police Department understands that not every emergency requires enforcement—some require empathy, understanding, and professional support. That’s why we’re proud to have Ashley Ferguson, our on-site Social Worker, as a vital part of our team.

Ashley works alongside officers to assist individuals and families facing mental health challenges, substance abuse, domestic situations, and other social service needs. Her role bridges the gap between law enforcement and social services, offering compassionate care, crisis intervention, and referrals to long-term support systems.

By integrating a social worker into our response model, we ensure that our approach to public safety is not only effective—but also humane, holistic, and community-centered.
